I recently got a grinder which has made the whole process easier and cheaper.
Mike this grinder has no problem doing the whole chicken carcass? Even the bones? Any of the grinders I've seen up here are either plastic made in China crap that I don't trust, or expensive commercial units 5x the price of the one you've us linked to.
The only caveat is that you need to be able to ram (literally) the meat/chicken in an inlet that's a little over 1-1/2" in diameter. So I have to cut the chicken up a little, like cutting backs in half. But once you do that, it barely slows down when grinding bone. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's fun, but it's easy. As I mentioned once before, just think Steve Buscemi in Fargo

My sister got me that very grinder for my birthday. I could not get it to grind. It didn't come with great directions. I tried several times. Everything just got clogged. That was without the bone. I was attempting the whole chicken.
Any thoughts on SOJO or Urban Wolf? Also my husband travels enough that I think I can get more bone into their diets.
Affordability wise I need to move away from premade. It was ok for one large dog but two will kill the pocket book. The 5 pound Brussels hardly eats anything.

Some will, some won't. Mine looked at me like I was crazy when I asked if they could ever grind bones into meat (that is AFTER he stopped looking at me like I was crazy for feeding my dog raw meat and bones! ). But you'll never know if you don't ask!

That's odd. Something must not be assembled correctly. After doing a whole chicken, I end up with about 1 - 2 Tbs.of bone that didn't go through the cutter. There certainly aren't many "moving parts." Is the 4-bladed cutter facing the correct direction? Are you using the coarse plate? If you'd like, I'll dig up my directions and send you a copy.
I'd like to know the trick on that grinder, too. I find the sinew and skin clog it up in pretty short order. Have tried checking direction of blade and using coarse strainer - only makes some difference, doesn't cure problem entirely. Any help much appreciated.
If you tighten the outside ring down so that the blades are pressed tight against the plate that should ensure that the blades cut instead of mash the meat and sinew.
