OK, maybe he's s long stock coat rather than plush. LOL. Katie - Kodee's coat doesn't look nearly as thick as yours, from what I can tell from your other picture.
Kodee is still relatively young isn't he Kori? He possibly doesn't have his adult coat yet to really say for sure, but if he has an undercoat I would bet he is not a long coat. If you could post a pic that shows more of his body that might help.
Also Kori, Ellie's coat seems to me to change a bit with the seasons. Her winter coat is much darker and carries more undercoat. I don't know if it's my imagination, but she also seems to have less of the feathering in the summer months.
Glad Cindy caught your reference to him being a bi-color -- he is black and tan for sure.
Susan, your reference to looking at the hair on the feet is interesting. If the hair on Ellie's feet looked like snowshoes I'd never be able to keep the snow/ice balls from building up in between her toes!

To me, Katies dog has a normal plush coat, and Koris dog looks like a longstock coat. The biggest difference between the two dogs that I see is the hair on the head, neck and around the ears.
I wonder, Katie when your dog was the age Koris dog is now what was her coat like?
ummm....could i ask for opinions on teagan? i always am completely confused about whether she is a stock coat, i'd never even heard of a plush coat before. i always figured she was a stock coat b/c she doesn't seem to get cold easily....
i wouldn't say her outer hairs are particularly silky.
This is my younger dog, Trooper. 7 months in this pic. I have no idea what you call it. Long coat, plush coat, stock coat, etc.
At club we just call him the Swamp Collie.
