She was actually salivating when I fed her a few minutes ago. :-))))) I make her sit and then wait a few seconds before she can eat, I was pretty surprised to see her salivating. I think we are on a roll.
Yes, she DOES like 'real' food. If she would have just told me a long time ago. LOL
Salivating! What an incredible turn-around. Yeh for raw food!
It really is amazing! I can't tell you how glad I am that I found this site. I had never heard of feeding raw.
Reba is the world's sweetest dog. :-) She is missing the aggression gene. Very soft ( I never had a word for her before, just knew I had to be easy with her.) She loves the world and the world loves her. LOL But, she would NEVER be any kind of a watch dog. Thus, I have my pup Justice. And SHE amazes me. What a great dog!
LOL, Barbara, your Reba sounds just like my San San, a 2.5 yo GSD. She used to be on nutro, which she would eat only when she was really hungry. After we found this site, we decided to slowly move her towards a raw diet. But she is a very picky eater, we tried THK Verve, Force, and Thrive, with minimal success. We then tried cooked meat, which she wasn't too thrill about either. We were at it again this evening, trying a different type of cooked meat. She did her usual ritual of smelling the food and walking away. My husband and I were reading this thread while hoping to see if she would change her mind. We then decided to plop down a glob of ground beef in her food bowl. Miracles do happen =) she wolfed it down in no time. We then gave her some raw rib meat, gone as well. So thank you for the thread!!
I'm really glad San San likes the raw too. It is so frustrating trying to find a good food that they like, trying to tempt them with different things. Then Bingo! Raw food and she loves it.
Thank goodness for this site and all the help here, and raw food.
San San did it again this morning. We gave her some raw meat and she finished it in 20 seconds, now we are worried she is eating too fast and may choke on it, LOL.
Yes, it has been a frustrating two months for us (she came to us two months ago) trying to find food she likes, if we had only realized it earlier, we wouldn't even try to take it slow and cook the meat for her, just go straight to raw, LOL.
We had never thought about feeding raw food (or that we have been over vaccinating our dogs) until we found this site. We are so grateful for this site, and everyone's great ideas.
Thank you, I do like San San's coat, just wish she would shed less, I know, wishful thinking.
Reba is a cutie as well, she looks very sweet and gentle =)
