Sounds like the dog is your buddy because you are not it's leader . Things will probably change when you start trying to take that role .
Having a dog like this I can tell you , mine is friendly to anyone who is not a threat to his dominance . Even more so if that person has a toy with him/her .
With me though it's another story . Jekyle and Hyde .
I've seen K9's we've issued to Officers turn on their spouses like this. The officers ignored our warnings and spouses were allowed to be around the dog without the handler being present . Spouses thought that since they always got along great with the dog they could begin commanding it to do things . When this was done they were bitten , one I know very severely , needing surgery.
I would recommend you pass on this dog if you're wrong about him it could cost you dearly . Even if the present handler is hard on the dog there may come a day if you take him where he wrongly perceives something you are doing to something the previous handler would do and the dog reacts the way he used to and hurts you .
Steve They told me. There is something he is up for this spring but I hate to guess.
It is over. I am not getting the boy.
Called the vet. Apparently the vet feels something medically might be going on. Said the rage iare more like "episodes". A neighbor man was bit in the crotch (I kid you not). This is why I am not trusting!! Not saying everyone at the club knows but the owner was FAR FAR from forthcoming!!!!!!!!!
The vet recommended an MRI because the blood levels are off. That was three weeks ago.
What an ass.
I am letting my husband deal with the rest. He is good a verbally ripping people a new one.
Too sad. I feel used and lucky no to have had an "episode" while I had him. IF he were mine I would help him because he is great. FIX THE MEDICAL ISSUE.
No wonder I like children and animals better than the avg. Joe.
Thank you all for taking the time to help. Sorry to waste your time but it was nice to have knowledgable feedback.
