Do you need to be at a certain level to go to the seminar? Or be participating or wanting to participate in Schutzhund, is that what it is geared towards?

Sue,
I will be going for the obedience instruction Michael gives. He is wonderful.
I work SAR dogs so I am a "newbie" to the whole M.E. experience. I would definitely say that if you can get to one of his seminars, no matter where you are at in training with your dog, it will only benefit you both.
IMHO, he teaches you to have a better, more solid relationship with your dogs as well as great training for "insert discipline here" instruction.

I took my six month old puppy bitch ( along with my older, trained dog ) that really was just beginning in training and I got *alot* out of the seminar.
Mr. Ellis can help teach you to train your dog at about any age or training level.
That guy is good!
Sue - I second what Carol and Will have said. I usually go just for the obedience. I am hoping to go next year and will likely have my puppy that I am primarily focusing on obedience with so that is what I would work on with Frost.
Happy Birthday Cindy....so you're what, about 37 now?
I can hardly wait til the seminar, especially, since Mr. Ellis does encourage the flying of our freak flags!! Deanna, I am going to count on you being there.
Donna, I am sorry that I won't be able to attend the Pirate Gathering. I would love to be a wench....just for one day.
Is that Badass Pillaging Pirate Jack going to be wearing a patch over one eye, or does a hook on his tail serve him better. He would probably think it was fun!
Thanks Carol, Will, and Ingrid. I would really like to go, it isn't that far for me, just a 4-5 hr drive. I'm all for trying to learn how to train my dog better. I have a ton of books and videos, but I would think there would be nothing better than hands on. Just wasn't sure what the criteria was to attend.
If today is your B-day then that means 2 years ago for your present, Ed got you a litter of Natan/Sage puppies to whelp. How fun and exciting. What did he get you this year
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes.... they sure roll around fast these days!
Yes Debbie, I am *about 37*
Sue, the only criteria for attending is to want to learn and have fun. We try to do both here, with heavy emphasis on fun. If it's not fun, why do it?
yeah Eric, I was whelping that litter 2 years ago and Ed stayed up all night to finish waiting for their arrival so I could sleep. That was my present then.
I got a number of cool things for my b-day this year, but really my life is pretty great without presents. I have a cool job, great family & friends, love my dogs and horses and think I live in the best place in the world. I don't need anything else!
I was scheduled for a Michael Ellis seminar in Denver this year but something happend and it was cancelled at the last minute - I was sooo bummed I definitely want to be there next year, long road trip to Wisconsin but I'm sure it would be worth it and it sounds like alotaaa fun!!!!
