EEEgads guys!
You guys are alarming me! I'm visualizing Jenn with open oozing wounds and you Michele, calling red cross for a blood transfusion every few days!
Stratch the band-aids, I'm sending gauze and ace bandage wraps for you two. lol
Hint, a leather jacket and gloves will take some of the bite out.

Update! I managed to break my digi cam so I am stuck taking pictures with my crappy vid cam. It doesn't take vid for anything, will just stop recording unexpectedly in the middle of a video but I am trying to get vids. I need to get a new camera.
Cuda is about 6 months old now. I am having trouble with toy reward for heeling as I am still too stiff and not coordinated enough to drop a toy from my armpit and for some reason after the concussion holding a toy with right hand on my left shoulder makes me about fall over, but I'm figuring things out LOL for now he has food reward and for 6 months his focus is nice. All the heel work I do with him is offlead, and he has a flat leather collar on.
Little tug, big mouth! I just ordered tugs more suited to his gator like mouth. He bites everything like this - trying to get whatever it is as far back between his molars as he can. Including my arms and legs, and my poor dead couch cushion.
A slide show of more very poor quality pics, showing him coming in for a reward bite after a down stay. I do half recalls and half returning to him for stays.

More to come, promise!

Jennifer,
Happy to see you back and Cuda making good progress. Regarding the toy reward for heeling, I have also had success holding the ball with my chin against the front of the upper left shoulder. I don't know if that description makes sense but it is one of the ways I have rewarded heeling with a toy. Have fun with the little "gator".

Jennifer, Cuda looks GREAT!
He seems like a fabulous new focus for you after a pretty awful year...
I wish you both all the best, and have fun with the little guy!

You look like you live in God's country. I'm jealous!
Great work with the puppy, you have not let all the bad things that have happened to you get in the way of your goals! I admire you for that.
My "puppy" is 16 months old and I have full use of my body and still can't get him to "fuss" very well (of course I have no idea what I'm doing) but we are having fun learning together. I am sure I will "get it" soon!
Can't wait to see the videos you will post of beginner's Mondio training.

Thanks everyone! I rent 1.5 acres on an 80 acre horse ranch surrounded by other ranches. I have about 300 acres that I can use for training which is awesome. Plenty of built in distraction, too... elk, deer, turkey, bobcats, coyotes, foxes, raccoons, every kind of small and fuzzy fourlegged creature you can think of. Oh and the horses, llamas, goats, donkeys, burros, cattle, geese, chickens, and sheep.
Anyhow. He is coming along nicely.
Mary I will try that but it may make me fall over LOL I have an equilibrium with a sense of humor these days.
I hope to *finally* get my butt down to Cali and train sometime in February but it may not be until March. Thats when the real fun starts and we will find out just how badly this beginner has screwed up!
