Totally understand and know that they do not require the rabies on a puppy that age.
Sucks that they tell people different things from call to call.
Had Doug and Heather call Northwest and Delta tonight....Doug was told just rabies and a health cert, Heather was told proof of all vacc, rabies if applicable and a health cert, and I was told rabies and a health cert as well as an acclimation form.
UGH....
Interesting and Frustrating for sure. That is why I titer and provide copies of those.

I say don't stress an already stressed puppies immune system any further by assaulting it with vaccines. There really aren't that many dogs flown on a daily basis. My pup has flown twice, both times she was the only dog on the flight. My pup unfortunatly had one shot before I got her, out of my control, but no more. Yes, she may have contact with the baggage handlers, but the odds of them having viruses they can pass to her on them are way less than a neighborhood kid, or a friend coming over after running all over town. Plus she will never leave her crate, and they won't be petting her much, if at all, they have work to do.
We ship out of Minneapolis/St. Paul which is a Northwest Airline hub. On any given day there may be dozens of puppies back in the cargo area where we drop our dogs off. I think much of it depends on the airports your puppy needs to go through. Larger city = more cargo.
I have seen the people that work back on the loading dock go from crate to crate and stick their fingers in each one, saying "hi" to the puppies. This drives me CRAZY!
I still won't vaccinate my puppies, for the same reason that Shody stated. I won't stress an already stressed pup with vaccinations. Like I said before, this is a personal choice and whatever you decide, you need to be aware of the risks and benefits of each choice.
My pup was due for me to take him home this week, but I received an email from the breeder stating they are unable to deliver the pup due to a health condition (heart murmur). So far 3 out of the 5 males were diagnosed with a murmur.
Three days ago he received his first 5 way vaccine. I requested them not to give him the 5 way but they told me they had to follow protocol.
Is it possible the murmur was caused by the vaccine?

While it could have happened it is unlikely in IMO that a vaccine would cause a murmur. I find it much more likely it was a bad breeding. Were both parents cardiac cleared? You can search their names in the OFA database to see if they were.
It is possible that it was a simple bad combination of genes that produced this result. I personally would never repeate this breeding with such a bad result.
