We have two GSD, and it is really a lot of work. But it is just awesome because right now I am not working except for the dogs so I can put all my time into training.
I feel so lucky as well as blessed1
We have three. 2 GSD and 1 Dobe (well he inspires to be a dobe one day). It's just the perfect number. When you take one dog out to work with, the other two keep each other company, so no one gets left home alone. (And I don't come home to kennels full of stuffing because someone shred their bed or blanket)

I have 2 GSDs, my 2 year old working line male trials dog and a 7 year old bitch retired agility dog.
Recent addition is my ESS mix who is a detection dog.
I have 3 that are mine. Jenna is my older, sweeter, and more well-behaved GSD. Heida is my holy terror 8 week old who doesn't want to cuddle ... takes up too much biting mom time. Tiqaa is my dominant aggressive, bratty Lhasa Apso ... gotta love her :-D.
I take care of all the dogs in the family right now though, so I have 11 dogs (and a litter of 10 pups) in my care all together (plus 15 rabbits and 80 something chickens).
I have a pit bull mix rescue named Pearl. A tan sable gsd at 3 years, very calm dog called Bella. Also an Itailan greyhound,Marty. Two cats, siamese cat that is part dog, greats guests at the door and sleeps with Marty in the crate. Also a manx cat,Duma. Two budgies and one parolet
2 GSDs, a female 2 years old and a male about 2.5 years old. I got the female as a puppy and added the male about a month ago. I have just enough time for the two of them, I'm not sure I would be able to keep three exercised and happy.
We've got 2 GSDs, Jody (almost 8) and Kati who is 6-1/2. Two seem to be the optimum number of dogs for us. We also have two cats, one of whom thinks he's a dog.
