Puppys bite - IDIOT - its up to the owner to correct this not the breeder. I bought a pup from a litter who brother was returned for being to "aggressive" now my pup was fiesty - liked a bark and nip - until corrected then he learnt that he wasnt aloud to nip. end of story. The returned "aggressive" pup is now with a friend of mine and sure he liked to nip - thats how they play this was corrected and now he doesnt nip. Its not rocket science. I think Allison "hun" should have bought a bunny rabbit not a gsd.
And as for breeders always being right, breeders generally have a ton more experience than your average owner - so their advise is generally quite sound, and worth paying attention to.
IMO, bashing people and calling them idiot's is uncalled for and out of line! This woman did what she thought was the right thing with no harm to her family, and no harm to the dog. End of story.
Cindy, let me clarify: my family went to meet and pick out the puppy after I had researched and called the breeder and talked to her and about the puppy etc. First mistake is your research...you should have asked the board BEFORE getting an Amercian Show Shepherd..There are plenty of excellent advice on how to pick out the proper pup on the board and first one would have been steer clear of these lines. It's a good thing the pup went back, for all involved.
tim leigh, can you read idiot? she said the pup growled and snapped at kids trying to feed it treats, anyone with half a brain will tell you thats not a pup to put into a home with kids, any little puppy who wont take a treat from a kid, and then snap at them, should be with an adult home only!!!
I don't know about the bunny rabbit, we have a pet rabbit that bit the crap out of one of my friends who was visiting last week!! Maybe I should take her back to the breeder??
