and Brandon, Cindy is absolutely correct. In WI you can sign a personal or religious exemption although schools try to tell you otherwise

IMO, IF you are going to vaccinate it is best to wait till the children are older, around 2 years or so, and give single (monovalent) vaccines for the ones you feel comfortable with.

It does infer stronger immune responses and is safer for the children, researchers know this. But it is easier for compliance and cheaper for distribution and storage to put them together and put everyone newborn on a schedule because it's easier.

and FYI, mercury "free" vaccines can still have enough mercury in them that that amount in a gallon of water is not safe to drink by an adult according to the FDA.

My BF has non-Hodgkins lymphoma and his doctor has often said that the number of lymphoma cases has just exploded over the last 10-20+ years and no one really knows why. Now, he hasn't ever stated (or even hinted) that vaccinations might play any role in that but we have often wondered if this jump in lymphoma could be at all be related to the childhood vaccines everyone received?

Given what I now know about vaccinosis in animals it doesn't seem like a totally wild thought but it's hard to find and decipher the medical data on the web relating to this.

On the Shingles comment - what I was trying to say there was that many people get shingles who have had very very few vaccines.

That's a good point. Personally, I think these newer homes and office buildings that are built tight as a drum are extremely unhealthy to live and work in. But I'm veering OT...

That is very true. and also with the amount of variables in any one person's life, it is probably impossible to difinitively prove to everyone that x causes Y in terms of environmental toxins, vaccines, diet, genetics, etc. But we can see trends.

To me, most of the vaccines they want us to get are for things I honestly am not afraid of. Even Polio, i've heard all the horror stories, but the reality is that only about 1% of the people infected ever had a serious complication. Terrible if you're that 1%, but not reallyt he scourge of the nation I always got to read about.

Sure measles killed lots of people, when we had to rely on the crop of potatoes stored in a dugout room in the side of a hill, people bathed in the water that carried their waste, our homes were cold and damp and we didn't have access to good nutrition or treatment.

Chicken pox? I remember calmin lotion and getting a few days off school, what's the BFD?

But today instead of just Diptheria, measles, polio tetanus, etc, they've added hepatitis for a newborn????????? are encouraging annual flu vaccines for children as young as 6 freakin months and to continue for every year of their life after????? and HPV, and chicken pox and shingles and????? What's next. How much of a toxic load are we to place on our bodies in the name of "health"?

I just want to say thanks to the people that posted links to articles. To Cindy for giving me the heads up on the school issue. My youngest just turned 7 months. I AM going to read these articles(haven't had the chance yet) and going to make the most educated choice for my kids' sake.

The area I live in is a very....umm..how do I say this..liberal, or hippie(don't mean to offend) type area. So I am also familiar with the whole holistic approach to health care. Or alternative methods to keeping healthy. I think I will also hit up some friends that may have opinions on this and see what they have to say or somewhere I may turn to look for information with what I already have here.I use to work with a man that had absolutely no vaccines. His mother would give him warm soup, tea and plenty of rest. I think that guy is one of the most healthy people I know.
