Studies can show what they are meant show. Reality, as far as police dogs is what matters. Can I train a dog to bark and hold, no question. Can a dog be reliable doing bark and hold? No question. Can a dog be reliable under actual field, working environment? That's a study I'm going to have to see, including videos. There are some significant differences between the training/certification field and the "street". Decoys know when to freeze; handlers aren't going to get shot; the dog knows the difference. Training, knowing the dog is going to have to work is a bit different than training for trialing.
Just thought I'd post this link, read it; believe it or not.
