when you say you tried everything, have you tried to make him bark out of frustration?
My GSD barks at most weird sounds behind the door, but my boxer is different. I had to tie him to the door (i tried the kitchen table but he almost dragged it) play with him with his favorite toy, then move out of reach and asking him to come play. As soon as he made a sound, i run to him and give a treat. I almost lost my voice doing that for a few days until i heard a bark!
It's still not natural though, when he barks on command, he goes through some weird motion, like he associates the command with the whole motion of pulling/jumping at the end of the lead while barking.
i eventually figured he was happier silent, then the GSD came over and filled the silence. be careful what you wish for
