I gotcha. Connie does that mean my balance is off when his stool is too dry? On some days I feed both pork neck bones and chicken thighs along with ground turkey. Should I be eliminating the chicken thighs on those days that I feed pork neck bones?
(Sorry if this is a thread de-rail but it seemed pertinent)
If the poop is too dry, then I add muscle meat or delete some bone. Pumpkin is more of an occasional rescue thing for once-in-a-while G.I. upset.

That's it!!!
You're banished!!!
jumping into my thread and asking a relevant question!?!?!?!
The nerve!
kidding kidding.
Hey, it's relevant to the thread, so it's not considered High-Jacking.
High_Jacking would be asking if feeding pork bones makes your dog more aggressive!
(it's true ya know...lol)
Anyway, i think I may have given him a bit too much bone.
Still no poop, and when we were out in the backyard he was eating some grass...which (with tucker) indicates a bit of a tummy ache.
Im looking forward to seeing a difference in his coat and his teeth!
No matter what I do, or what I give him, because he's black (and no I am not DISCRIMINATING) i still see those little dandruff flakes...drives me CRAZY!!
Let me know!
And LOVE the T-DOT reference! And coming from the H-dot-TON!
Other thought regarding his coat is to try some fish oil (wild salmon, for instance). I find that gets rid of the flakies!

Well, he pooped!
and sorry Nat, but definately not something I want to take a picture of.
Had the white mucusy stuff, and the stool was still somewhat firm...meaning i picked it up with no problem.
So, still give him just a small meal tonight of just muscle meat?
And Jen,
I do give fish oil, but maybe not enough because the little dandruffies never ever totally go away, but it's only when i brush him that I see them...and not a tonne of them, but they are still there.

Good!
No, I would just add a little muscle meat now to the backs. Straight muscle meat can trigger diarrhea, and was just suggested because he seemed to be constipated.
How much fish oil do you give? How much does the dog weigh?
