I started them today after a 24 hour fast. I had to hold the backs for my big guy as he was a bit mistified as to what he should do with it. He chewed very well. Bolt didn't want anything to do with it so I held it for him while coaxing. he ate one back then I put the other away, walked him and then held it for him as he ate the other. They acted hungry but I think they are just hoping I'm preparing another meal. I think I was more excited than they are. Bolt wolfed down the last half of the back it was a small one. I guess Now I'll have to check the logs of them all for bone. If there's bone then I have to slow them down and get them to chew and pull off small pieces right?

Dogs don't chew like we do. A piece of food is chewed enough when it will fit down their throat, in their opinion.
If there is some bone in the poop, just give their guts time to get acclimated and start producing the necessary bone digesting enzymes. My 2+ year raw fed dog still passes some visible bone from time to time. Nothing to worry about.
Also, I wouldn't start the habit of holding the food, either. Put it down, and let them figure it out. The "newness" probably confused them a little today. Give them a chance to figure it out on their own.

Ditto what Michael said.
When I first started raw, my dog wasn't quite sure what it was either, but after a couple of days (far less than a week) you will see a difference in the dogs when they realize that it is food.
Also, dogs have a wonderful ability to regurgitate (puke up) something that is to big to go down. Even now, my little 10 pounder will sometimes swallow something a bit too big, throw it up, give it a couple more chomps and swallow again. This is how the dog is designed to do.
It can be scary the first time you see it because we are used to feeding kibble or mushy stuff and they never have a reason to barf it up due to size.

OK I was thinking I needed to show them to use those back teeth to chew . I bet he goes for it tomorrow. Oh one more questions if he doesn't eat it, how long do I leave it (I have him in the large dog crate to eat as the other two are wanting his.) Today he started to whine so I started to feed it to him. I definately don't want to start something like that and have to do it all the time Yikes.

OK I was thinking I needed to show them to use those back teeth to chew . Nah. They know more about being a dog than we could ever show them.
Oh one more questions if he doesn't eat it, how long do I leave it (I have him in the large dog crate to eat as the other two are wanting his.) If you think he is hungry then give him 15 minutes or so. Don't hover. No fanfare or special attention.
If I give mine food and he shows no interest, which is rarely, I'll take the food right then. No issue is made what-so-ever. I assume he isn't hungry.

LOL!
Ditto to Nora and Michael.
Michelle, you might want to walk away ("no fanfare") and let them do what they do. You're feeding backs anyway -- pretty darned hard to get into trouble with them.

Just a thought, I haven't re-read this thread yet, but did you mention that you fed the big one in his crate?
Are the other dogs fed in crates? Do you have crates for all?
This is not what I do (I only have one dog) but some people always feed in crate then the dogs don't have to stress about the other dog taking their food.

No I put the smallest dog (Bolt) in the large crate.(He's on the right in the picture) I have two crates and the larger crate is the one he goes in as he cannot dig out the bottom tray like he does on the smaller crate. So I fed him in there as he's shown food aggression to the others with kibble so I figured he would best be fed in there. Then I put Chief the big dog in my 4 season room also known as "the dog room" as it's where the food bowls filled with endless kebble used to reside and the water bowl/jug is in there. Then Gabby gets a towel in the great room where the big crate is. She grabbed the chicken and ate it right away. She is the trouble maker, takes all toys, treats and icecubes if you let her. So basically I keep everyone from her and she's a real "bitch" when it comes to having everything that any other dog has. Sorry if it's unclear, my brain goes faster than my fingers.

So the dogs are separated for meals? That's good, IMHO. (I do feed mine together, but I also stand there and police, because I don't want any food-guarding or anxiety over food to ever get started.)
