Whoa! Can't wait to see a picture of this beastie!
Can that much weight on a dog only 10 months old do long term damage to hips and joints?
Some close friends of ours have a 6.5 mo old GSD from the same breeder and the pup is probably 10-12 lbs overweight. We can already see the effect it is having on her in terms of growth and especially in her walk/gait.
Connie's right. I have a 53-lb, in standard, adult female German Shepherd. For a 10-month old puppy of the same breed to weigh 165lbs is somewhat incomprehendable.
If you know a puppy who is ten pounds overweight, then shame on her owner(s).
Yeeeaahh, we all went to the breeder's place last Sat for a day of training and the breeder ordered less food and treats for the dog. They also need to kick up the exercise for the pup!

Ok, I will have to get a scale. Even so, it doesn't seem right that 2 medium size chicken legs a day are enough for a 10 month old dog expecially since she ate twice as much a couple weeks ago.
Sorry everyone, you must of had pictures in your head of a freak puppy.

Yes, I know my mental picture was freakish! It meant taking my full-grown adult and pasting a hundred more pounds on him.
No, two medium-size chicken legs are not enough for a 65-pound dog. But we have no idea how far off it is.
And she is not losing weight? Pooping, urinating OK?
