thanks, thats what I bought, plain unsweetened yogurt...i hope he will eat it...the medication made him loose his appetite a little, but with the yogurt and the pumpkin on it he may show some interest, I am hoping anyways...he nis usually the most food driven dog I have met, so lets hope....
the medication must be working a little, he went out after his meal and had some chocolate milk type of color and consistency diarrhea followed by a couple small fully formed stools...so maybe the meds are doing the job, we shall see if he passes what he just ate tomorrow morning....thanks to everyone for the help, I will post more as he hopefully gets better...

Good sign!
Don't be in any rush to resume regular food. I always continue on the soothing diet and the small frequent meals until I have seen at least a couple of days' worth of perfect poops.
Edit to add: It will be faster than that to poop out fresh non-kibbled food ... more like tonight.

yes....I knew that (I just forgot stupid me), I have actually read alot on the raw diet...you wouldnt know it from my posts though..lol. I will keep him on this plan for a couple days worth of good poops for sure. When its time to go back to kibble do you just put a little in the mix and slowly intorduce it like when ou switch brands, and do you think it would be alright when I re-introduce to use the Acana instead of the Purina....thanks for the help.

What's Acana? A better kibble?
Yes, I would go that route. I would slowly and gradually make the switch from the soothing diet to the better food. Actually, I think that would be a good time to dump the bad food, with a slow transition.
exactly what I was thinking...yes Acana is a better kibble, it only has one grain product in it, oats, everything else is made from fresh, never frozen meat, with some veggie's and fruits. It is made in Alberta Canada. It is a 4 star on dog food analysis and even higher on other rating websites. I debated the raw diet and/or the honest kitchen (which is hard to get here) but until the pup is a bit older I am ok with a good quality kibble. Because the Acana has oats in it the protein and fat levels are 33% and 16%, which is lower compared to an orijen, evo, etc...I would like to keep the levels at an ok level while he is growing. I will be incorporating at some point raw a day or two a week, probably will just use the urban carnivore (now carnivora I think) line as it is prepackaged raw food with vitamins etc already in place....anyways, for now just getting him back on the kibble will be good....thanks for everything.
ps - It was fun to see how much he enjoyed the meal I had prepared though...he loved it!
