Ok Steve, you got me on the Platters...I love their stuff, but I was barely a toddler when they appeared on the scene. Steve you wern't even a 'twinkle' in your fathers eye at the time of the Platters.

They were still around when I was a kid. Some different members from the original, but still a group. Just like the Drifters. My favorite version had Clyde Mcphatter who was long gone when I was born. The Ben E. King era was when I was a kid.

Funny that you had brought up the Platters. I just saw the Platters on a tv show sometime the last couple of weeks ago. I can't remember who was the one original guy left, but he was not walking well at all & was sitting & singing from a chair with the others (all new people) around him. He must be around his late 70's or in his 80's.
