The other day it was freezing here, I didn't want to take off my gloves so I put some peanut butter in a squeezy tube and rewarded him with a small squeeze he could lick off....worked well, hands stayed 100% warm, treat delivered in timely fashion, and you can even squeeze in mittens! I suppose you could do this will other things as well....
Ooooooo! I love this idea!!
What sort of squeezy tube were you using/reusing?
Now I'm all excited to go out and train on a really cold day so I can give this a try...
Like that idea! Someone at our training club put braunschweiger in one of those squeeze tubes and suggested I try it. The smells that came out of my dog later---ugh! Never again!
We have this funky little store the town over (if you're ever in Northampton MA check it out!) called "Acme Surplus" that has the oddest things you never realized you needed. I found unused toothpaste tubes...like, you would put them in machine that would pump them up with toothpaste for sale....I used a syringe and pumped it up with peanut butter....of course I just learned you can buy peanutbutter in a tube now....it's some little kid lunch snack (not sure how real the peanutbutter is though...I think it's the super sugary skippy stuff)
This Acme Surplus store gets the weirdest things...I actually originally got them after I had a slight paint tube malfunction and this was one I didn't use. I can go back there later in the week to see if they still have some, if they do maybe I can send some out to you guys. I can't imagine where you'd get them otherwise without having to buy them in bulk...
So it's like the tubes that art acrylics are in? I could try to track down a supplier online if I can picture the thing. lol
no, they're for toothpaste or something like that...I was just using them for paint since I happened to have had a paint tube destruction accident that morning (don't drop a box of xacto knives onto your tubes of paint..every single blade will land face down in those tubes....)and then saw those in the store and thought they'd make good replacements. This was an extra one. They came all rolled up with these little clips on the side like they clipped into a machine that would pump them up with product for packaging. If you look really closely on the side you can see what would be a printing guide for a press to put on a logo.
Try Campmor Catalog for camping gear. They sell reuseable plastic squeeze tubes for $3.99 - Item #23124. You can get extra clips as well, in case you lose them in the snow-$.80 for 2!
We use to get them for camping. The bottom opens up to fill and you put a clip on it. Unscrew the cap on top and PRESTO!
