You sound more like a hunting Dog man than GSD man. Do you have Shepherds as well? How many dosg do you have? Are their dogs that really breed true to type?
Yuo can run a google on American Coyote hound, American coursing hound, etc, etc. I think that there are some site there, mainly british. That won't last long though seeing as how the freaks over there have managed to sway public opinion, and votes into some very wrong-headed legislation.
There is a nice, knowledgeable guy running some very nice hounds in New Mexico, and a few more that I know of here in west-central Nebraska. Let me know if you want the info and I'll see if they are having any pups soon.
If everyone is thinking alike, then someone isn't thinking.
One other thing; these are "game-bred" hardcore hunting coursers. They have a sinister amount of prey drive that means that if not kenneled properly, they ARE going to chase down and kill things that run, such as cats, smaller dogs, rabbits, etc, etc. It is just hard-wired into them and it is thier nature. Most are fairly quiet, until something runs, then the show is on. Jackrabbits are a total blast to watch with them, and alot of times the jackrabbit still gets away somehow. The infusion of Saluki blood has added some extra endurance & stamina into some of the lines for the long haul runs. I really only know what I have seen and been told with regards to this, I have never owned any, just rode along with some folks that live for this.
If everyone is thinking alike, then someone isn't thinking.
