getting back to the "pooh" issue, I don't know what the heck I'm gonna do if the housing market picks up and they sell the lots I'm running my dogs on, ten acres of pasture. What's worse is my dogs have taken "ownership" so I'll have to be extremly vigilant about doors and gates when we get nieghbors.
These are probably the same people that leave their shopping carts out in the parking spaces at the grocery store.
Ooooohhh... I hate these folks!!! Came out of the grocery store yesterday and found a cart leaning on the right front of my car -and I was parked RIGHT NEXT to the "cart park" thingie!!!! They probably leave the Christmas lights up all year too.... grrrrrr.

I guess I had a hard time with that line of where you simply bite your tongue and where you verbally slap someone upside the head.
One time I had a guy drop off a hairy black standard poodle with a slight limp that looked a little like slight HD so I wasn't too worried and started the groom. When shaving this dog's feet I noticed the problem which was a hind toe so badly broken it was vertical with a golf ball of swelling behind it and stopped the groom and called the owner to come get his dog. The guy was PISSED that I didn't shave his dog but I just said I couldn't do the groom on a dog in this condition. Dog was in pain and plainly needed a vet. I lost that client but I can honestly say I don't miss him. I can do without that kind of neglect bi monthly.
I have gotten direct in the past with people leaving dogs in cars on hot days, who abusively handle their pets in public, who set their dogs up to live in an unsafe way like running loose in traffic, have dogs clearly aggressive around kids, or living without any shelter from the elements but honestly where do you draw the line? I don't live my life seeking fights and I think I'm a little more middle of the road than other people but good grief, are people crazy?
It is better now than when I worked for Petco but perhaps people are right, learn to shut up. Have a moment of zen with a candle and NPR on the radio to say a little prayer for all the dogs who suffer.

Crazy, and stupid, IMO.
I just found out about a friend of a friend's dog...this was a wonderful BC that was an incredible agility competitor and was a sought-after stud.
He was hit by car and killed Monday nite...her heart dog...who had never gone the 1/4 mile down their drive to the highway! How could this happen! What a tragedy!
Well, gee, do you think it may have had something to do with being outside, unsupervised?
These people just make me freakin' nuts.
I really do feel for you Melissa, since you have to deal with all this rampant stupidity on a daily basis, given your job.
Hmm. I guess I've spent too long in a mind-your-own-business environment. I clean up after my dog but, the only time I get upset about seeing random poo is when it ends up in my yard.

I hate to see it when dogs are allowed but could be not allowed.
Some owners make allowing dogs seem like a PITA.
We had access to a nice fenced baseball field here that was great for training -- until the baseball folks started having to pick up dog poops.
Some of us who really wanted that access even started picking up after the ones who didn't, but we couldn't keep up -- it was constant.
If one has ever played baseball, or even watched baseball.....playing ball becomes a whole nother game if someone isn't picking after their dogs.
All of our ball fields have been shut off to dogs now. Simply because a FEW people that won't pick up their garbage. Golf courses for the winter are already thinking about shutting it down for dogs and I fear the public parks aren't far behind for year round.
Hardly anything worse than bringing home shit on your clothes or digging crap out of the cleats of your boots.
