maybe you can get away with waiting until six months to train a dachshund, but if i'd waited that long to train my dog, i'd own a completely out of control monster today. most of us have to train the dog while we are still stronger than they are! in my household, training begins the day the puppy arrives.
any dachshund lovers here might enjoy reading e.b. white's essays about his pet dachshund, fred. "whenever i called fred, i never had to raise my voice, or my hopes." lol.
