Kelly,
I guess I should of added that I only use the "I am going to get the water bottle" for her biting only, nothing else, since it is a negative training tool. I used marker training for most everything else.
Sorry Randy, it was the only thing that worked at that time. I know it sounds terrible but I tryed everything else and she just wouldn't stop at that age. I didn't hurt her, it just got her limited puppy attention at that time.

Nope, it doesn't sound terrible.
It just sucks as a training tool.
Save the spray bottle for the ironing board or the stupid cat.

Randy,
I am honestly interested, with no sarcasm intended, why the spray bottle is okay as a tool for the cat but not the dog. I've never used it on either, but am curious...

Shrug,
My dogs don't like cats, I don't keep cats, and I could care less about how they're trained.
As far as I'm concerned you can use cats as dog food for all I care.
I'm not heartless, I understand some people like them, but you gotta train the stupid things somehow I suppose. Can you actually teach them they have names?

So it is not that you think the tool is cruel or ineffective, but just that it should not be used on an animal you like?
And yes, they learn their names just like dogs do. Some come when called, some blow you off.

Don't be silly Barbara,
It's a lousy training tool what ever animal.
Amazing, some actually know their names! And come when called!......sometimes. Amazing simply amazing what can be taught to a dumb animal. No?
Julie,
Sorry you're offended.
Too bad, get over it.
I'm neutral in how I feel about cats. I don't dislike them, I don't like them, I just don't care about them one way or the other.
However, in the interest of harmony I will endeavor to keep your concern for some imaginary maligned cat in mind.
No matter how many ways I want to skin it, or what direction I want to throw it if it happens to be dead.
