Just voted and Oscar is still winning. I too am curious how he got in the chair and remained there posing!
We set up some special training sessions specifically for the photo.
He's not normally allowed on any furniture - but boy was he excited to hop up when I gave him the first "okay" and pointed "UP!" onto that chair.
We had to learn as we went - he was a bit skittish at first because the chair is fairly lightweight (and he's an ox) and it slid backwards when he put front paws onto it (easy fix: chair went up against a wall). Then he got nervous because the chair is sort of slippery (molded fiberglass) and it has a dished seat, so everytime he put his feet up, they'd slide into the center. Once I saw that happening, I slipped a small rubber backed bathroom rug onto the chair, so Oscar's feet had something to grip. Worked like a charm (and eventaully we were able to take it away). We worked out the actual sit with some gentle luring (for a while he just looked like a circus elephant standing on one of those little stools ), and once his position was good, THEN I had to figure out the shot angle, and just the right sequence of words that he knows that when said rapidly in succession (in a reeeeeally happy voice) resulted in the best head tilt... piece of cake, right?! The whole thing only took a couple hours total, spread over a few days.
I do nothing! I can't even figure out photobucket!! A computer geek for a husband, and a son that works for Apple. I have made threats, more computers, and a new pack of dogs!
