Ok to clarify these issues. I always correct her the same way when she breaks a sit. Is that wrong? The way I see it she shouldn't get up until I say OK? Right? This is the only time she has even attempted to bite or anything when I correct her. I think you were right with what you said in the pm rich. Thanks for all the advice.

Stoner, On a scle of 1 to 10 where do you correct her?
I agree with Vancamp, most likely pain induced aggression. I did the same thing when I first started using a prong collar. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> There's a big differince in the correction levels.
Ease back to the least amout of pressure it takes to get her to respond. You may want to try putting the rubber tips on the collar. it will allow the collar to tighten around the neck without the extra pain.

Also she wont stay off my bed!!! She knows she is not supposed to be on there cause when I walk up to her to correct her she takes off running!!! Am I the only one who caught this???
Are you sure it is your bed? If it is why is she on it? How does she have a chance to get on it? She doesn't 'know' anything, she is going into avoidance because she 'knows' a correction is coming for what she doesn't have a clue. In her mind she is the pack leader, you go to correct, this confuses her she thinks something must be wrong with you, you know she is the boss and still try to correct. She hides.
When she was in a heightened state this confusion became, 'I must remind you, I am the pack leader' you got bit.
If you can't watch her put her in the crate. You are not the leader in this situation. I don't agree with the idea of correcting the snot out of her. This will teach her the way she deals with challenges is physical. Out-smart her. Mix the food up with your hand. Let her drag a 6 ft leash around. Keep her off all furniture. Make her sit before she gets anything. Before you pet her, play, feed, water, go through a door. Before anything happens she has to earn it. Sit. You go through a door, then allow her to come through. Put her in a sit at the foot of the stairs you go up then allow her to.
The pack leader determines where everyone goes. If she goes up the stairs first you are following her.

Todd,
OK....maybe the bite was a freak thing.....a reaction to an unfair of poorly administered correction. Yes...lets try and outsmart the dog, do all these things to prevent this situation from happening again. Great. Now during training, you issue a fair correction(NOT "correcting the snot out of her") and she bites you on the hand. What do YOU do?

In a training situation far removed from any other influences. It is a direct challenge to me. It will be dealt with accodringly. In the instance you describe, I would actually go to the ground with the dog. The leash is on. As hard as possible I will stomp on the leash giving one heck of a correction in the process pulling the dog to the ground. If I am going to get bit, it is going to be my leg, not my hand or face. Once I have the dog on the ground. Now I have control, it is up to the dog what happens next.
As per the original question. I don't believe it was a poor correction. Just an unfair one. The dog doesn't know the rules. Cuz, the dog makes the rules.

Todd,
You are right, I didn't catch that. I think that I would trat each as a bit of a seperate issue. They MAY have a common theme, but seperate. It sounds like a dog that knows she is wrong by getting on the bed, that is why she runs. I agree about keeping out of that area, why allow the dog the opportunity to make the mistake.

Simple as it sounds this is the root problem.
