LOL... Ahhh, the insight. See... man’s work. I’m sure I won’t command any respect fiddling around with my little lever action Winchester, however.... when hubby pumps a round into his Mossberg or whips his 7 mm out from under his slicker, I’m sure the cashiers can’t get him through fast enough. This is probably how he gets such good deals too.

I’ll definitely keep this in mind the next time I’m standing in line. Even if I can’t take out a few consumers along the way (Canada and all), I’ll sure have fun passing the time thinking about it.

Does anyone know how much garlic is in Tripett?
I do see garlic powder on their site. I'm gonna email them and ask, even though garlic powder as flavoring is generally excluded from the warnings against alliums for dogs.
They (Tony Gabriele) confirmed that it's not fresh garlic (it's powder) and said that it's lower than 1% of the can's contents.

Did he mention why they even put it in there? I can't imagine dogs preferring the taste of garlic over tripe.

You guys, can’t say enough about this stuff, I gave them the second can last night (a 1/3 of the can spread over a smaller portion of their regular meal) they pranced and danced and were in their down with wiggle butts. Once the food hits the ground they pop up immediately for the chow down. Gone in minutes.
Okay, that does it. I'm hitting Petco tomorrow and giving it a try. Prancing and dancing with wiggle butt downs is just to cute a descriptive to not try it out.

Had an interesting conversation with the store lady.
She pretty much alluded to the information that Connie received. Said its second to last on the list, probably not much – just a bit flavoring. Of course, this was just somewhat of an informed assumption on her part. I too wondered why they would flavor tripe with garlic, of all things, for dogs.
Also asked about this Salmon/Duck tripe – I’m so blonde (naturally of course). Said... I didn’t know they used the tripe out of salmon and ducks – got a little bit of an eye role and she said “It’s all beef tripe; they just add salmon and duck.” Well me, “wait a minute… this one says venison tripe, are you telling me this is beef with venison added?” No she said… “That’s venison.”. A bit confused I asked which one do you think is best? She said, "I don’t feed that, I feed my dogs raw." Me…”Okay, whoa, whoa….I do too… what do you mean you won’t feed your dogs this? She said…. “I didn’t say won’t, I said I don’t.”
Then I needed to go to my happy place because I didn’t want to walk out empty handed knowing how much the boys enjoy this stuff – and not fully knowing her reasoning…. So my morning discussion with Steve pops in my head and I start picturing hollow point .38s being dropped into the shiny revolving chambers of my colt… clink, clink… It was very therapeutic – thanks Steve.
Composed, I said… “Its tripe, you don’t feed tripe?” She said..."I have access to all the frozen I need, which I prefer to the cooked stuff in a can." Me… “Cooked?” She…”Yes, they have to process it to get it into a can.” So I thought this was interesting.
As well, when I was checking out with my six cans (venison, lamb and beef) the counter had a new stock of bully sticks on it. These things were huge, at least 4 feet long. I said WOW, what are those from? Again with the look… (she was busy) and said “They’re from bulls.” I said…”You’ve got to be kidding; those are almost as long as a full bull.” She says… “They stretch them.” Okay… this was good, I learnt stuff.
As I said, I’m so not a shopper. Hubby has the directions now.

The stuff at petco has potato in it. and I worry a little with it. Some cans are very firm, and others are pretty runny.

Just one more of those really weird but fun things you hear on this forum... I really should start compiling them...
