Oh Congrats! I just had to post because I have a female from those exact parents - she is from the B litter born in March of 2009 (pic on right below). She is AMAZING and I'm sure your little guy is too! My girl came out very ash blond. I do love Ajax's dark color though. Enjoy your boy!
Wow what a cutie! Are you ready to get roll with a malinut?
Sure you will pick a good name for your puppy. Has he started to drag around on your pants yet? I'm sure you are going to have so much fun with this little guy.
"It's better to be an optimist who is sometimes wrong than a pessimist who is always right"
The little guy is from H litter. Does not have a name yet.
I think he will be amazing
Okay - a question and is intended ONLY to learn and maybe I misunderstood an earlier comment in an earlier post...
Someone else purchased a showline dog and received what I took as a slightly "mocking" question as to "what letter in the alphabet" was the litter... Obviously, this is an awesome pup from a very impressive working pedigree - but with a "letter" describing the litter.
Can someone explain? Did I misread the earlier post which I took to be a bit mocking toward that particular pup's lineage/breeder?

Thanks!
Can't know for sure, but there are some dog lovers out there who believe any dog acquired should be a pound or rescue pup. Some of those folks might "mock" a purebred litter?????
Just like everything else in this world, I say 'to each their own.'
I personally think it's cool to see the legacy of litters a kennel has produced. There are some that are using BB or even BBB notations once they are into triple digit litters.
Has to be an awful lot of work, though. I can completely understand why Ed and Cindy decided to take a break.
I'm jealous of Ana. When I was looking at Mal's, my preferences were Ot Vitosha or Loups Dusoleil (Michael Ellis's kennel). Both produce unbelievable dogs.
A dog has alot of friends because he wags his tail instead of his mouth.
Nah Barbara,
You know better than to think I'd 'really' mock any breed, or mixed breed of dog for that matter.
The reason I asked for the alphebet letter of the litter is thats how breeders keep track of which and how many litters a bitch has had.
It's kind of a loose tradition that the name of each dog of a litter starts with the same letter as the number of litters the dam has had.
For instance. I call my pup Strider. But he was from Capri's first litter. His proper name is Alf der Strider Eisenherz.
(yeah, I fudged things a bit)

See I thought it was how many litters the KENNEL has had. I'm not a breeder so I'm not sure but it would be pretty tough for poor Cyr du Ciel Rouge to have had "B" (my pup's litter in 2009) through "H" litters in just over a year!
People who actually know want to weigh in? Now I'm curious too.

In France, they do it this way (and I only know because a breeder I know does her kennel the same way):
The entire kennel uses the letter for their litters. But each year has it's own letter. In 2006, the B litters were born at this particular kennel. They had two litters, with the same sire and different dams. Some of the pups were Breeze, Bogan, Blitz, etc. Even though they might not be from the exact same litter.
In 2009, the E litters were born. They had two different pairs of dogs (aka not half siblings like 2006) and all of the puppies had E names.
Also, the name doesn't have to start with the letter. For example, if you wanted to name your puppy Rover, you could name him H'Rover <insert kennel name here>, and his call name would be Rover.
At least that's how I understand it. And I'm not sure if that's how it's done everywhere or just in France and by other breeders who follow that protocol.
