I agree, mowing is fun. So is watering the flower garden.
also like going to Dairy Queen - the only "restaurant" in my town.
Sunset viewing is prime.
but my favorite activity in spring/fall is horseback riding, especially long distance races (25 to 50 miles) w/ my Arabian.
Let's see fun...walking all three dogs at once now that they behave well and walk in a formation(big dog on the inside lane next to me.. I can even say "over" when a car comes and the black one pushes everbody to the grass (no sidewalks here)
Biking
Reading
This may sound wierd but sometimes I just like to lay on my bed and gaze out the window at the lake.

I spent a few hours doing that this weekend, Loki woke me up to potty at dawn and everyone was still asleep. I just sat there with my dog at my feet and watched the water for an hour or so before going back to bed.
Someone once told me that water is supposed to have a natural calming affect. I forgot to say I also enjoy pulling the kids on kneeboards and tubes with the boat. (I'm the watcher not the captain)
After my divorce, I had free time for the first time in my adult life. The kids would go on Friday and I was kinda like, "Umm, now what??" But almost two years later, I hike several times a week, started painting again and LOTS of reading. I love to Kayak and swim, (but no swimming pools.) Pretty much anything outside.
PS. Ollie gets his first trip to the lake this weekend. I can't wait to see if he likes the canoe and swimming!
I've been known to sit in the koi pond with an adult beverage... Not exactly the same effect as a beautiful lake, BUT it is close and has a waterfall which sounds absolutely wonderful!! LOL! (my own little white water...)
I forked over the big bucks for a UV system for the pond two weeks ago... It is over 5000 gallons, so you know that wasn't a small investment. GROAN.... The water quality is great due to the bog filter, but I've been battleing parasites since last fall; almost get them wiped out and then they make a comeback. I'm hoping by adding the "oversized" UV system, in combination with the pond drugs, I might actually wipe the little buggers out this time.
I'm so envious of you guys who get to spend time on the lakes! (I am heading to Avon, N.C. on Wednesday for a few days on the Outer Banks so I won't whine toooo much).
