Some goats are pretty tough. Goats are not scared like sheep. They are more likely to stand their ground then are sheep.
Obviously, the dogs have to be trained not to "prey" on the goats, which other than
butting, are pretty defenseless. They don't kick much with their hind legs. They can
jump up and land with their front feet, which they do on snakes and rats, but they are pretty weak.
They can be hard to confine.
The pygmy goats are characters, and like Betty said, working with your dogs would be important. When I first got goats, the dogs accepted them rather quickly. We taught the dogs how to herd them in their pens, and keep them within a certain boundary. My little Pap could round them up in a matter of seconds. Pygmy goats eat some weeds but not all, some can be rather finicky. Make sure there are no plants/shrubs in your yard that are noxious to goats. They LOVE hills, and playing on obstacles, the wire spools are a favorite, just don't put them close to fencing or they will be on the other side.
