In my house "winter wear" is called an undercoat.
My son now has my 13yr old JRT and his girlfriend has started putting "cute" coats on him.
Now when they come over I have to try and keep my two GSDs from snickering at and peeing on him.
I kind of agree.... but I do force Koenig to wear his coat when it's pouring down rain. Hate the wet dog smell!!!!!! He really does not wear it when it's chilly- that picture was stages in the snow.
Sara however only has a single coat, and a sparse one at that. Silly in-practical hunting dog.

All dogs' coats are not created equal... There are times when I'm vacuuming up the fur balls generated by my two dogs, which I've named because they are so large (the fur balls) , that a JRT's coat is very appealing. Doesn't mean they are wimpy dogs - far from it as a matter of fact. Put a rat in front of one of 'em, sit back and watch the show...
Love the custom rug Kristel!! Murphy looks great in it. The deep purple with his rich coat, really nice match. Sounds like you went through a bit to get a good fit too.
And way to cute Melissa, she looks like a little baseball player.

Pete's a retired hunting terrier. I've dug him out of the cold wet ground more than I care to think about now.
It's kinda like making Conan the Barbarian wear a skirt!
Rats?! Sissy quarry! He's faced off with coon, fox, possum groundhog and a snake or two. Now he's wearing skirts.
We had temps get down to about zero last winter. My dogs acted like they couldn't care less. Running and playing outside any chance they got - I was always ready to go in far before they were. I kennel 2 of them outside during the day and they are pretty well acclimated. But I do put a coat on the youngest if the temps get bitter because I have a hard time keeping weight on her. She doesn't have any extra body fat so I feel better if she has some extra insulation on!!
