Connie, He is now playing stare down with the cat. I actually have him out of the crate now laying at my feet. Easy contentment in that. I will have to come up with some mind games for him. Any suggestions>>
Day 4; One small change noted today. He coughs a little when he goes for his walk. I was expecting this so am not concerned. This goes away completely if he stops walking. If he starts coughing and cannot catch his breath, we will be off to the emergency vet. He is drinking well, eating like a horse and has no tenderness at all now over his spine muscles. He is not acting sluggish today at all.
DIE WORMS, DIE!!!!!!Sorry, got carried away. )
The weekend before I was to have him tested for his annual HW test, I was in a Frans Slamen seminar and we all noticed he was really fatigued. He usually drags me to the field for bitework but I had to wake him up to get ready for my session. So, to answer you , we had seen some fatigue but thought it was from 3 days of doing a seminar.
I was not expecting a positive since he had been on interceptor since he was 8 wks old.
BTW, what type of dog is the white one in your photos. I love his expressions!!!!
An Internet dog, supposed to be a mini ACD, likely ACDxChihuahua. He was heavily discounted by the breeder because of his color, perhaps because it reveals
the chihuahua ancestor. He weighs 23 lbs and can be ferocious (why I'm on the forum!)
Day 5; still some coughing when he gets to active but it quickly subsides when he stops. He has more energy today. I had to go back to the prong collar since my daughter helps me walk him when I am at work.
I continue the use of Dermaxx not so much for pain control, but some of the studies shows it helps reduce the inflamation in the blood vessels when the worms start dying off and the WBC do there job to remove the worms from the body.
So far so good. I hope the second shot in Jan goes this smooth.
Day 6; notice some changes today. He is panting more heavily when we go for a walk, tires easily tonight and has been a grump today. My daughter walked him for me while I was at work and she reported him growling at the other dogs again.
We both noticed he is more "stiff" acting today wanting to stretch more. Most of the time, I would blame it on crating but this crate is the huge one and he can stretch in it, literally.
He has maintained a great appetite but has lost a little weight so I may pick up his food some over the next couple of days.
