I would love to take a live class/course with Michael Ellis or Ed Frawley but I live in Flordia. I have a 16 month old Belgian Malinois, Uma, whom I love dearly. Retiring the end of April and simply cannot afford the expenses of travel, courses, etc.
One of my goals in retirement is to work constantly with Uma. Do they ever do seminars/classes closer to me? If not, I would love that to happen. Any chance??
Michael no longer travels and does seminars. He used to do 44 weeks per year in seminars around the country. Once he started doing DVDs with us and then opened his school for dog trainers out in CA.
We have filmed our first on-line course with Michael. My son (jeff) has done this work. Michael is coming to WI in a couple of weeks to polish off the details of finishing the course.
Michaels course will be announce in our newsletters. If you have OPTED OUT you can email us and OPT-IN - at bobbie@leerburg.com
I personally have never done seminars. It looks like fun - I just have not done it and now I am too old :-)
forrest micke will be in my neck of the woods this year. apparently no bite-work so I aint going.
WTF, if forrest reads this - what gives?
I was so eager to attend and even told my boss I was taking time off. the organiser confirmed no bite work so I cancelled my leave and threw the flyer in the bin.
he ain't even gonna see your dog if you don't attend .
if i recall , pete , you kinda outa the way right ?
if a guy like forrest came through my neck of the woods , i'd attend if for no other reason than to do dog work for week with a great trainer as if that ain't enough . . . it's almost like your saying you'd rather be at work lololol
and i'm sure if he did wind up loving your dog , he'd give you his honest opinion about the things you need to be doing with him , and i don't just mean obedience ( wink , wink ) .
presently it is not possible to be in or out. a date has been set but that's it.
I got early notice from a friend who is in the loop.
if I can talk to forrest and hear what he is planning and what is available I would go.
I do not like social events and I like dog people even less, so attending such a thing would be a big accomplishment for me.
Hmmmmmmm....I must ask: Do you like the friend who is in the loop?
Just go. Be anti-social and it takes care of it being a social event and having to deal with the dog people. BTW what's up with not liking dog people..... isn't this a board of dog people?
hey we all have to have a minimum level of mutual tolerance in order to survive.
of course I don't mind people here, I can click on the little white X inside the red square in the top right hand corner of my screen any moment I choose :-)
actually I do not mind practical working dog people so much, seems to be most breeders, all show people, self-obsessed dog sport competitors and fur-kid owners I clash with.
