I love Ibezan hounds, and some of the other rare breeds as well.
To me the Boston terriers head looked smaller than most of the ones I see with people.
I am also going to do some research to learn about the differences in the Belgium Shepherds/Malinois.
The black Belgium was stunning IMO.
My understanding is that the difference is simply in the coats of the dogs. Mal's are shortcoated, Tervuren's are long-haired and Groendale's (sp?) are the curly coated. Other than that, they are the same.
I do love the Tervuren's!! If it wasn't for all that hair

The Tervuren looked like a lion, he was beautiful! But I have been banned from owning dogs with that much hair for the foreseeable future.
I always gravitate towards the biggest, hairiest, sloppiest, dogs.

I've only seen 1 in person and he was gorgeous. We don't see many of them around here.

I knew a couple that did DockDogs. It was a blast to watch those elegant dogs go up against the chessies and labs.

There are four of those Belgian breeds. In this country we are most familiar with the Malinois and the Tervuren. The Belgian Sheepdog is the black one, called the Groenendaal in its native country. The fourth one is the Laekenois, which is the curly-coated one, and they are very uncommon in the U.S., although I believe they may have been admitted by the AKC into the Miscellaneous class at this point.
The dog training club I belong to has many Tervurens. I think, next to golden retrievers, they are one of the most popular breeds among our members. They are beautiful and trainable and do very well in obedience, agility, tracking, etc. Based just on those I have met, I believe they may have a little less of the extreme drive and energy than the Malinois is known for.
As far as the show last evening, I thought the Scottish Deerhound that won the Hound Group was a gorgeous and elegant dog. Watching him trot was a beautiful thing. I'm looking forward to seeing the Working and Sporting groups tonight. And at the risk of offending any Peke lovers out there, I am hoping that the Pekingese will not be BIS.

That's right! I forgot about the Laekenois
Interesting to hear about the drive on the Tervurens The one I met was very mellow for certain. I'm so used to seeing Mal's as PPD, etc., that I guess I never thought about a Tervuren in that regard.
Thanks!

I agree about the Pekingnese, it looks like a creature that should be in the Dark crystal or something, not a dog!

I've felt that about Tervs until I met the gal who has them in our SchH club. She's doing MR with her youngest and he has more drive and energy than most of the other dogs in the club! He's awesome.

And I thought the bostons head looked small compared to ones I normally see.
