We had never used this field before, and I won't use it again. Wind currents were TERRIBLE, with the field in a bit of a valley, and surrounded by trees. In hindsight, once I started laying the track and figured out the wind was insane, I should have quit and gone somewhere else. Oh well, live and learn. I also should have laid a short 'starter' track for Koenig, as he always does better on the 2d track of the day. Takes a while for him to settle into tracking on this one.
The track has 3 smooth 90 degree corners, 2 right, 1 left. I have food in every 20-30 steps (fairly random) except the corners, which has food in every footprint. (By that point I was worried about the wind, and overshooting the corners)
Did you notice the boxer dog? He crossed our track at 2 points. Once where Koenig got totally confused and sat down (after he sat I asked him to sook, and he was off like a rocket again), and again on the last leg of the track.
Koenig platz's at the end, where I've placed an article (leather). At this point, I'm still asking for the platz, we have not totally figured out what articles are about yet.
Katie- I'm SO jealous of Danni's slow, methodical tracking! Koenig pulls like a MULE. Ugh.

Koenig looks great!! And so does everyone else. Ingrid shouldn't be allowed to enter contests because you and Frost are always so amazing!!
I honestly owe Danni's speed (or lack thereof) to circle tracking. I think a few more tracks and she will be ready to break out of a perfect circle and I can start making it a little more curvy.
And yeah, the wind sucks.
Ps. Kelly, I love your kids in the background!! (At least I think they're your kids...)

... Right before something startles her on the track (I have no idea what it was) she sees a cat. I was SHOCKED that she didn't go after it and kept tracking. SO proud of her!!!!
There is a part where she leaves the track to go out to the bag where I keep the treats and her ball. I just said "hey" because I knew she was going there and she went right back on the track. Good girl.
It was VERY windy. And I'm really surprised at how well she did. You can see where she loses the track due to the wind but finds it very quickly.

I agree. Ingrid should be used as an example. lol.
We started on circle tracks also. He plowed right through those as well. We had the chance to train with a world-competitor SchH trainer last weekend. He commented 'well, he certainly enjoys tracking!' ROFL. Yup, thats my dog, enthusiastic to the end. Maybe too much. lol.
Yes, those are my kids. Logan was trying to 'track' with Kylie I think (her hood= the leash?)
