Poutine is a very healthy non trans fat dish of french fries with I believe cheese and gravy. Not a bad choice for Will but he could do better with Poitin.
Poitin is a wonderful companion to "The Boiled Dinner" by the way as a first generation Irish gal born on St. Patrick's Day I will highly commend Connie for the mention of the smoked shoulder. That is what I'll be cooking on my birthday with cabbage, potatoes, carrots and turnips. YUMMY!!
Now back to Poitin; distilled from potatoes or malted barley (potatoes are WAY better)in Ireland it is one of the strongest alchohols known to man and renowned for the ability to intoxicate the drinker the next day; by drinking water and bringing the ethanol back to solution. I think this too is a favorite amongst cardiologists.

Good grief... I was having a hard time understanding all the different types of chocolate and which was "kosher" and which wass't... Now THIS??
And Michael, I noticed the same thing... many of us seem to be "food motivated"...
I don't know about Will but I'm very interested in this Poitin.
If it doesn't make you blind where can we find this comfort?
From the description, I highly doubt it is legal in some states, but I bet if you ask the right people you will find it around my neighborhood next month.
Do you think you'll care if you're blind with all the hair that will grow on your chest?
Go to Logan Airport customs after the Aer Lingus flight arrives and grab yourself a couple of the bottles of Holy Water from Knock. Good stuff comes in Holy Water bottles.

Smoked shoulder. Its tasty, but it dosent get all shredded like the corned beef. That's my favorite part.
You take your potato and smash it with a fork, add a lump of butter, salt and pepper and liquid from the pot. Then you smush in your corned beef shreds.
Its a little bit of heaven.
I actually consider smoked shoulder (or smoked picnic, or whatever it's called where you live) to be better. It's the hammy potatoes. :-)
