Steven, to bring your question to the forefront, once again. The dog in this instance is not a dog that is not responding to training or mildly disobedient. There are organic and foundamental problems with this animal. Dogs are as much a product of their enviro as they are genetically predisposed to do anything. With one works the other, without out one the other can not exist. This Chow x that attacked a six year old child, and maintained its positon of dominanace, provided of course it is unprevoked as I assume is the case here, has problems that behavior modification are not going to fix. This dog is not the way he is because of irresponsible / inexperienced ownership. I would venture to say that if appropriate corrective measures were taken, this dog would behave in a similar fashion at the next opportunity. It's only a matter of time before this animal does someone some real, undeserved and unjustified damage. Just wondering....ever have a child or see a child in such a position?
