Amy,
Just so that you know, there have been several Aussies that have gotten to a SchH III - I've been in clubs that had a few, and they were all real go-getters with plenty of useable drive.
Will,
she's a food machine cause she likes giving treats to them, all 4 are glued to her when she's around, then she naps on the gross floor with them, to cute.

That is really cool! I have no doubt mine has the drive, maybe just not the nerves. He is really quite terrified of strangers.
I am loving the pictures of the dogs with the kids
Al, in a previous post you had mentioned starting local, but I'm in "small town" South Dakota and there is no local beyond the people who buy a GSD as a farm dog and want to get the purchase price back by having puppies I don't think that is the dirrection for me. Local for a SchH club is 200 miles. Though I think I'll contact one or two and check them out.
Kelly, your guy is a Dutch Shepherd? Our dairy is named The Pleasant Dutch Dairy My husband thinks they are amazing looking dogs. We've never met one but yours sure looks impressive!
Yup, He's a dutch! They are pretty cool looking dogs, aren't they. I'm not partial at all. Dutch Shepherds are known for having many of the awesome traits of GSD's, plus a little more. You're libel never to meet one in a small town- the breed is not recognized by the AKC, so they are not common. (yet, backyard breeders are starting to crop up)
There is a great rescue, who sometimes has some lower-drive/lower energy dogs. http://www.dutchshepherdrescue.org/
