One of the things I've learned is the crate is a great place for my dog when I'm tired and short of patience. Nothing productive happens when I'm cranky.
Your on the right track with calming down Elizabeth, you don't want to have a big fight about going in the crate so that it seems like punishment.
When I'm tired and cranky, the dog goes in her crate with an extra good treat for going in and something to keep her busy while she is hanging out.
We are only human. Better to crate the dog for a few hours than to ignore bad behaivor OR to risk loosing it and punishing the dog for things easily controlled when we are in a better mood.

When I meant I put her away when I am tired of her I mean when I don't want to watch her every move or else something else is going to be chewed up (ex. new computer stereos) I never put her away when i am frustrated but when i am I count to ten then calm down because it makes thing worse instead of better if i don't unfortunately Ive learned from experience ....
I sometimes word things wrong my bad I like to talk face to face it's easier that way. But I just wanted to make sure everyone knew I was not throwing her in the crate because she was misbehaving and I was aggravated with her. I appreciate everyones advice it has been very helpful
