Not every dog "gets" that peeing in the crate is naughty, some are not as clean as others naturally. Also, some pups take a long time to housebreak, some have better bladder control than others. Some pups can urinate 3-4 times in a 1 1/2 hr and it is not pathology, just a developmental issue, like some children pee their bed until
they are 4-5 yrs old, it's pretty darn annoying but it's not disease, it just takes time and they stop.
If you do the bladder tap you will be certain that she does not have a urinary tract infection.
I'm sorry you are having this trouble with your pup, but I'm pretty sure it will have a good outcome.

I just want to add that if it's a matter of no UTI and simply a need for back-up-to-Square-1 with house-training, it can be done and we'll help.
Everything that Betty points out - ditto, BTW - is why I asked the couple of questions two posts up.
Not being quite done with house-training isn't a psychological problem.
If you learn that there is no UTI, then a new commitment to a consistent house-training program will work. (Trust me on this : I've successfully trained dogs who had never lived indoors and dogs who had spent years forced to go in their kennels. You can fix it.)
to answer your question Connie, I thought so, although I am now trying to get her to go right before comming in after play, or a 2 min walk after we go out(two chances), the 4am is new, for three weeks she lasted all night and no problems in crate.
We did get the bladder tap done, went well and I just gotta wait, hopefully will know before weekend.
as for house training, I could move her down a crate size, she has been in this one for a week and a half and it is roomy,
I just thought once they didn,t mess for a few weeks we would be done, but I will defenately be more proactive on potty breaks so there is no chance for her to have problems,
it will be quicker to dart her out every hour again like I did for the first month than bathing her and scrubbing her crate(although I do clean it every few days wheather it needs it or not)
called vet today, said should have results before this weekend(said that last week too)
glad to say no problems, but still wonder why all the straining, vet couldn't say
just got a phone message from vet
the culture results are done, and E coli was found. I have to get her weighed tomorrow so she can go on 3 weeks of antibiotics, followed by another bladder tap
