When I walked to a friends house to keep Koen while I tended Turbo and the other biz, I had to wait on Turbo to catch back up after he found it more important to dig a little run on a mole tunnel that he found in the woods between mine and my friends house.
Aw Michael, what a horrible thing. Sounds like Turbo’s a real trooper though and coming through it fine. And even if you don’t want/need to go the court route; I’d still be documenting everything. How you felt, what your son witnessed, times, those pictures are perfect….
A thorn in the idiot owner’s ass is good; a big prickly briar and they’d be receiving both barrels from me on a daily basis (words, not ssg).
I could have ended this 2 years ago. Knew better, but I let it go. Third time is a charm. I owe my family and dog to not let this happen a third time. I could very easily be burying Turbo tonight.
You can see the spit on him in the pics. God, that was too damn close.
OMG Michael... I am soooo very glad you, Turbo and Koen are okay. What a horrible thing to have had to experience.
I agree with you and Will...I'd be prepared every time I went outside, and THAT sucks, to have to live like that. However, the risk those two beasts present to not only Turbo but Koen as well simply can't be ignored.
Why don't those idiot neighbors at LEAST build those dogs kennels vs chaining??? (I know, a rhetorical question).
I honestly don't get the concept that there is nothing the authorities can do in situations like this... boggles my mind.
Deep sigh... So glad you guys are okay. Scratch the little tough butt for me.
I was filled with dread as I read your post. What a terrifying ordeal! I'm with everyone else on the attitude of the local authorities. Unbelievable, outrageous! I am so glad you are all okay.
How is he today?
Big dog on little dog can have a terrible outcome. There can be delayed problems.
Maybe feed something a little easier to digest than some of your usual stuff today
in case he has bruising of the bowel.
I'd say the force was with you yesterday. That could easily have been the end of the little beast.
I can only echo what everyone else has already said! I can't imagine how you were feeling during the attack. It's a sad state of affairs when you have to always be on the defense when out walking your dog but absolutely ridiculous when its your own yard. Glad to hear Turbo's ok.
A chain OR a kennel set up is inadequate, no matter how you slice it. The failing factor here is the humans in charge of handling these large dogs that have attacked others. Mark my words they will slip the chains. There was recently a story on a dog attack on a child. The dog had been declared dangerous after biting several other people and the owner made a secure kennel according to the law. The dog was still able to get loose and attack the child. I see no reason to think that'd be any different in this situation, since the owners don't seem to really give a shit about their own dog's safety and welfare, let alone their neighbors pets.
