This is REALLY important. If you see this, and the pup gets lethargic, you need to get into the emergency vet immediately.
Young pups going through the stress of being in a new home, with new environment and people, is already taking it's toll.
This kind of thing happened when I brought my dog Kaia home when she was a pup. Lots of stress and she got really lethargic.
We got her in to an e-vet immediately and they started the sub Q fluids.
Just know this is not something you want to fool around with if you see it, get in right away.

OK, we just talked on the phone. The puppy has now accidentally been fed too much for one meal, but DOES NOT have diarrhea (yet). That post about "looks like we will have diarrhea" did NOT mean he sees signs now; it was a repky to another post.
So he will watch the poops, and he'll post about the very next one (should be early a.m.), and we will guide them through a fast and subsequent slow reintro to a binding diet if he has pudding. Water means vet.
We're clear on that.
And then when all is well, 3 meals a day (not the day's ration in one meal).
I'm my first cup of coffee so I know I'm not firing on all cylinders yet, but could you please explain the complete name change Nick Logan / John Caven?
I saw the topic on using your REAL name so I had the mods change it.
I woke up at 3:30 and he was snoring almost LOL and then again at 4:30 he made it through the night without potty. There is plenty of water in his bowl.
His poop at 4:30 was a soft goo that slowly landed on the ground and then was sorta like very soft yet firm pudding. It didn't seem terribly soft. I'm going to take him out at 6 and 7 also..
I have a meeting for work I can't cancel at 11:30 am
Sigh. How soon does he need to see a vet? It's 6:24 am.
I talked to the Evet last night and they told me if he had Dog Diarrhea to take him to his normal vet for a check up. Being I'd planned to get him a check up anyways can I just take him to the normal doctor?
Nick,
Chill out! It's a pup. The first weeks are just bonding and house breaking. Wellness didn't go over well with 2 of mine for some reason, caused loose stool, maybe the same thing happened to your pup. Don't be hectic worrying about everything , just enjoy the experience of a pup, unfortunately it goes by quickly.
