I have had very bad experiences with trainers here after I learned more about training and e-collars what I put Tenzin through with Sit Means Sit makes me sick. Also worked with a trainer from the nearest schutzhund club (No I'm not doing any protection work with him) He was very abusive he told a women to smack her GSD over the nose with the end of her leash with an o-ring on it when he acted up. He also kicked dogs very hard during their protection work and I have seen some videos of him doing alot of table training. At any rate I don't trust many trainers in the area most are old school and I'm not taking Tenzin to Petco!
From what I have watched and read on Leerburgs it's not unheard of dogs blowing up from a prong correction I think that is why they sell the dominant collar... And I wish I could take all the corrections I made early on with a choke chain back because of the damage they cause a dogs neck.

Then you already know that "blowing up" is not something you can allow to continue.
I would continue looking for a trainer. Even if it means traveling. It would be very difficult to control a large drivey dog if you cannot discipline him.
I'm sorry if I sounded a little brash there I'm not trying to be one of those people who asks for advice and does not take it.
The comment that "if the dog is blowing when u are correcting him you are doing it wrong" just rubbed me the wrong way when you have never seen me give my dog a correction, like you said talking about it online is like pissing in the wind.
You and several others have made some really good points that I'm going to try. I just feel I'm getting bashed a little on how I handle my dog after posting 15 mins of our hours of training. The camera isn't always on when things are clicking with us both.
Also like I said this is not an everyday issue it flares up from time to time and over the last year things have definately gotten better. I was really just trying to understand what the behavior is which sounds like frustration and excess energy. so now I know I need to be more fun during training make sessions shorter and make sure he is in the right mind set before we begin. I really appreciate everyones input thank you.
Brent, there is nothing in the videos that you posted that showcases the "blowing up". I just noticed that you mentioned it many times in your posts and it seems to be an issue.
Once your training sessions get better you might notice improvements in other areas as well.

You're not.
All we have is what you give us.
Plus, if you give the worst online, you are doing yourself a good turn, because the worst is what you want to fix.
Who cares if a bunch of strangers know that "the worst" is only 5% of your training life?
A clip of the "blowing up" is important, BTW. More "worst," I know, but isn't that why you're posting?
Clips of good sessions are always welcome, too, you know! We loooove 'em!
They just go under a different title than "The Tenzin problem."
Maybe im using the word blowing up incorrectly. I dont think tenzin is being aggressive during these episodes maybe more just dominant or frustrated. There will definately be more videos to come thank you again everyone have a nice evening. Me and mr. T are off for a walk.
