Well he is 130 lbs lol and harlow is 24lbs at 9 wks.
Not much to get hurt on. I dont give them anything I dont want destroyed, the pups tend to get more for enviornmental stimulus than anything else. Ronin has his kurunda, a bed, misters, and water.
we don't have enough space in our home to properly give him some alone time which is what he needs for sport work. He has too much interaction with us and has made it hard for him to focus on the decoy when he's so focused on me.
Ummmm, he's a baby. It sounds like you lucked out and got a puppy that seeks engagement with you. A lot of people work long and hard to get good engagement from their dogs.
If you dog isn't or can't focus on the decoy because you are a distraction .....it has NOTHING to do with having ALONE time.
If you have a dog that has the proper drives to do the work, your handling you dog while the decoy 'works' your dog should not be an issue at all. This is providing the decoy is working the pup properly. There are decoys that work older dogs well, but that are just not good with bringing pups along.
Exactly. And isn't Gambit teething right about now? Not the best time to be gauging his response to bite work.
Pea gravel is more forgiving to the joints, easier on their big bodies. We bleach the runs daily. Poop is sifted out like kitty litter. Never had an issue with smell or flie.

Okay, I must be missing something. I thought you said you wanted to kennel him so that you could be gone longer than 6 hours and he would not relieve himself in his crate? But now you are saying it is because you think he needs more time alone so he will... basically unbond with you? So potty isn't an issue? I don't get it. This just doesn't make any sense to me.
