If the dog is still biting your fingers, than I would teach him how to take the food. Try putting the hotdog between your thumb and middle finger. Extend your index finger straight. During a relaxed environment let your index finger slide down the outside of his muzzle, while controling the front of his mouth with your thumb and middle finger. He'll learn in a short time how to take it. For what ever its worth.

My dog was nippy with food from the hand until I learned from another trainer to make a fist, and place the food barely sticking out from the bent index finger. No fingers to bite now. And now the dog must raise his lips and nibble gently to be able to get the treat. After a few times of getting food this way while saying "be gentle" my dog takes food this way from my fingers....very gently....safe enough for little kids to give her treats.
