I feed my dog factory farmed chicken every day, and I hope for kisses! I'm not careful at all --- except I don't feed any raw ground meat, and I don't feed turkey.
We had a dead turkey yesterday. I put her in the dumpster, even though the Pinker thought she looked delicious.......
Why not turkey, Betty? Just curious...I get turkey necks pretty cheap.

That turkey recall is still finding more states with tainted meat. The bad turkey was produced/shipped from December through at least early August. Even though about 35 million pounds were recalled in the first recall, the scary glare focused on this mega facility exposed so much drug-resistant "Salmonella Heidelberg" and so many other-label products that include the Cargill product that it's starting to look even worse than it did (and it already looked pretty bad).
Dozens of reported sickness cases, in about half the states in the country so far.
Another recall (same facility) was just this past Tuesday.

OH! I'm in Canada and have not heard of this... I'll do some research and see if it is affecting turkeys up here. Thanks for the info.

Turkey has been recalled all over the country. If you rinse the turkey necks well, they are probably fine.
I was being silly when I talked about my own turkey - Blinky - who was at least 8-
no clue what happened to her..

But did you really put her in the dumpster (and shock Pinker)?

Yup, walked about 1/4 of a mile, holding her by the head, her poor old toes scraping the driveway, and heaved her into the dumpster. I bet she weighed 30 lbs. Pinker hoped she could be the mother of all markers! He was READY for some command.....

This made me burst out laughing. Pinker dancing around praying for a command ....
I can picture my dogs running through their entire repertoires, eyeballs fastened on that 30-pound turkey ....

Last winter after hunting season Kipp found a dead deer back in the woods in the woods. He kept slipping off when I'd take the dogs out for a run. One day I called him and he came trotting up with hints of blood on his mouth and a "you called?" look on his face. I followed his trail and found his fast food joint. It was a doggie jackpot.
Then I was mean and used it for a distration on some serach problems. He ignored it nicely while searching, but every time I'd just take him on a run, he'd try to head back for a snack.
