I would NOT feed an atiacid to a raw diet feed dog....they NEED ALL that acid to digest their raw diet quickly... otherwise you are risking pathogens like saminilla etc to grow rampet in their digestive tract & make them sick.
They reason that they CAN eat a raw diet with no ill effects is due to the extremely acid diegestive juices in their stomaches & short diegestive track, this allows for fast 5-6 hour passing of their raw food with out suffering from illness. Human stomaches are alot less acid & have way much looger digestrive tracks that allow for the 'fermentation' of foods & theirfore leaving us open to pathogenes like samanilla etc.

I wouldn't either, but since the OP said the dog is on a "no protein" diet I don't believe they are on a raw diet. Beyond that comment I don't remember seeing anything in this thread regarding what they are feeding the dog normally. If it's raw I must have missed it.

I think (hope) the arrowroot porridge and yogurt (the "zero-protein diet") is merely the diet the dogs get when they are ill. Even that has protein, btw. Milk products contain casein, which is protein.
I don't think it's possible to create a diet for a dog that is free of protein.
I'm pretty sure Ram feeds raw the majority of the time, and he meant the no protein diet was for upset tummies.
Ram- most of us feed overcooked boiled rice, and boiled chicken breast as a bland/binding diet for dogs with diarrhea. The idea is to go for bland, rather then no protein I believe.

Yes, I feed arrowroot porridge and Yogurt only on the days when they have upset stomachs. Other days I feed Fresh Raw chicken, mutton. Rice and veggies, Rice and Yogurt and egss etc.
I also feed them spinach.
Well the good news is I have not seen bloody crap anywhere in my garden today. SO Let us hope that cutting that tree works.
If not I will go the muzzle royute till I can get a grip on what is going on.
