Yeah, it's unfortunate. I didn't see either of the shows he did here in BC (kind of glad now), but I sure heard about them.
Here's a bit of gossip review but it's completely accurate from what I heard personally. Just so you know I'm not pulling this stuff out of thin air and you can get his interpretation.
WOW! I have to either call total BS or allow for a big disconnect between blogger's "informant" and CM as speaker. I see this was written by a non-attender: "I have heard from a few people who were there."
And "I can't wait until he brings this garbage to the U.S." I wonder where she thinks he lives and does seminars?
I'm blown away. He is NOTHING like that, and I've seen him a lot more than once, and used to attend his seminars "back in the day" when every person and every person's dog got to work with him. We would carpool down south and attend as many as we could.
And one of the stories he tells on himself is how he came here as a macho Latino and learned damned quick when he met his wife about losing that attitude, and how his life has improved as a person who has learned openness and caring rather than his old macho front.
I wasn't going to join any of this thread besides posting links, because my stories about him (and many others, good -- and a few bad) were detailed there.

He gets results. More than can be said about some.
He sure does. He has to be part dog.
Nothing makes me laugh more than watching him demonstrate a dog behavior .... tongue out, "paws" up, mannerisms perfect .....
Yes, he does some thing differently from others. Yes, he can be controversial.
But he gets pack behavior. He gets dogs.
I learned to stand tall from him (and he's a vertically challenged guy, too!). I learned that dogs NEED the security of a strong leader. I learned why a dog with a choice will look at him and prefer to "be with" him than their owner who refuses to step into the leadership role. I learned to cowgirl up when I feel weak because I'm the dogs' pack leader.
I put him into the position of the person who most affected my presence and attitude and demeanor around dogs and Ed/Michael as the ones who most changed my training methods.
Connie, from what I heard, he did say those things. Most people thought he was funny. And to be quite honest, I do too.
It's probably an analogy that people understand. I sure understood what he was saying and have no problem taking it in the light context I'm sure it was meant.
It was just interesting that he would go there in a public venue where some people could have the option of taking it out of context.

OK, I get that. He IS a funny guy.
He once said "Woo hoo! I learned to re-think my Mexican machismo when I met my Latino-American wife. She just would NOT sit or stay!"
He meant this with zero disrespect. In fact, I think of him as one of those people who respect others automatically, unless and until they learn otherwise.
