I agree, that’s pretty technical. I guess we can assume that body body stuff isn't covered with fur.
And Joyce, I'm with you, is there anything we can do to help?
This I do get:
That's also one of reasons, all those cute dog photos many people use in their sigs can really slow things down.
Would it help if we removed them for now?

lol, in IE right click outside of a reply windows and choose 'view source' this will show you all the code for the page you are on. People don't necessarily write the code, softwares like Dreamweaver, Cold Fusion and 100 other possible html editors do it, but a good webmaster will be able to tweak the code directly ..... imho the webguys doing reat the site looks really nice, seems functional. I know they are all about selling products but again, my opinion, the dvd ads on the left, shopping cart links at the top, would be better suited on the products page. There is such a thing as overadvertising ... just saying.. Ed for god sakes when I logout of the forum I get a shopping cart is empty page, personally I already have 6 Leerburg DVD's, when I can afford more I will go shop for them, and I do want more. Removing some of the ads will free up space on the page, use less bandwidth on the server, unless all of them images are storing in the cache, I will look at that (Temporary Internet Files if you use IE)

Hey everyone,
Sorry it's taking so long to get these problems ironed out. It’s been really hectic here at Leerburg lately with a lot going on, especially the brand new website that we just launched. Some of these problems stem from the fact that the new design is a lot more taxing than the old version, especially for those of you with slower internet connections or older browsers. This is why some of you see the strange layout for a second before the page "pops" into place. We have two people here who work on the design, layout and templates for the site, and I will need to work with them to see what we can do about this. In the meantime, the best advice I can give is to try an updated version or different internet browser.
Unfortunately I'm the only one programming right now, which includes the rest of the site (Video on Demand, shopping cart, login system), as well as our local database and any problems that pop up there. Me and Ryan, the IT manager, have also had to divert a lot of our time into setting up an "office" after ours burned down a few weeks ago, replacing our computers and software, and generally getting ourselves up and running again. This is when a lot of the "new" problems may have popped up, like the things mentioned earlier in this thread, and these are on our list of things to do as well.
I am also keeping a list of the things mentioned here, like the preview and signature display problem. You’re not being ignored. Connie also lets me know right away when something’s going on. If you find anything else, feel free to PM me or just post it in this thread. If you can’t log in, you can also use the "Contact Us" page to reach me, too. Once again, sorry for the frustration this has been causing a lot of you, and thanks for being patient. Hopefully we'll be able to get these issues sorted out soon.

When I am logged in I cannot click on any link in active topics because the quotation bubble is popping up over the link. I can select a thread from the left margin, but am then limited to only the most recent threads.

Duane,
It sounds like this could be a browser-related problem. Can you tell me which internet browser you're using and, if possible, the version? You can usually find the version by holding ALT + H and selecting "About" when the window is open.

It has got to be a problem with the CSS stylesheets. I get the same problem a fraction of a second before the site loads completely as well. How are is the styling of the page being applied? From what I see in the page source, it looks like the page is applying the CSS stylesheets in the <body> section instead of the <head>.
That is:
generalstyles.css
styles2.css
should be declared in the head section of the page instead.
Hope this helps,
Zachary

Zachary,
Thanks for the input---we have found this to be true as well.
Our front-end web developer has been working on responsive design and we have been gradually integrating some of these changes into the website, and the webboard will be seeing some of these changes soon. In addition to the stylesheet issue, this will also help with some of the problems encountered by users viewing the webboard from iPhones and other mobile devices with smaller screens.
Let us know if you come across anything else. Thanks!
