Are there young kids in the house?
An untreated ear infection like that ..... this is the kind of pain that can cause a suffering dog to snap at someone who hugs his head or presses on an ear.

If your grey-faced lab isn't immune to the agents in DHLP-Parvo after all the injections that he has had he never will be.
Find your old Rabies vaccination certificate. The product used and serial # will be listed. We can help you to determine if this was a 1 yr or a 3 yr vaccine. Most rabies vaccines are 3 yr.
A check-up is valuable for an old dog, to look at his teeth, listen to his heart, check his ears, feel his lumps and bumps to help figure out if they are cancers or just lipomas, fatty masses that do no damage.
My mom looked at his vaccine thing when we argued about it. She said the was given the yearly dose. Not sure what kind though. I will look tomorrow morning. I think they are just lipomas but wtih all his problems and stressed caused by his sore hips and ears I am not sure.

Yep everyday there are multiple kids over. My Dad will wrestle with Gun too so anyone could get biten. He does not like it when you mess with his ears, he whines and pulls away. I know if he bit someone that it was not his fault, other people might not understand that and I can clearly see how this could cause some bad problems.

You have a serious responsibility to talk clearly about this, to both parents, until they understand the seriousness of the dog's pain (which makes me shudder) and the chances of a self-protective snapping, which any dog in enough pain will resort to.

This can't stop at this thread, and what's happening wrong, and you're right, and how angry it makes you.
A quiet and determined (and not angry, shouting) discussion has to happen. I have a feeling that at this point, only you really know the pain and the danger (health as well as being hurt in play and possibly snapping) this dog is in, and that means that you need to get it across to adults. If all that happens are shouting matches, then no one benefits, least of all the dog.
JMO!
Only then have you done all you can, at which point it's out of your hands. At least, that's my take.
And at that point, it IS out of your hands.
Again, JMO.

Caitlin, if you will let me know your address I have some prescribed vet wash and those drops left over from last fall. I can mail it to you. I think one bottle of the vet-prescribed drops is brand new and I'd hate to see it go to waste.

I knwo I will talk to them about it tomorrow and maybe show them this thread. I will talk to them and see if I can just get Gun a physical and his ears drops. Once I get a job soon I will pay for some "quality" vaccinations.

If we will be going to the Vet soon, like next week. Then I won't need the ear cleaning supplies. But if I find out tomorrow they plan to go at the end of the month or changed it and are going even later then I will pm you. Thank You

Good news we went to the Vet today and got Gunner his ear cleaner stuff!!! It won't at least another 2 weeks to go tot he Vet so that gives time for his immune system to get back to normal from the yest infection in his ears.
My parents said they were told by the Vet that Gunner would never get rid of it and that we had to pay for this $500 procedure to get rid of them, and that still may not work. What?! Is this just a scam? Anyways I think it also has something to do with his diet and once he is on Raw I will be excited to tell everyone if his ears have changed at all.

Oh and my parents want me to ask some questions to the Vet about vaccinations. I don't really understand what they want me to ask. All I want to do is find out where I can get 3 yr vaccinations.
