I wouldn't give him a reward for acting like an ass. What you do now IS the foundation for later. If you let this become a "thing" it may stick and you don't want that. Make him sit, hook the leash on and don't make a big deal out of it. You can put it on and off while you're sitting in your living room , do it 50 times so it just becomes the leash, know what I mean?
I don't know if he's just tired today or what, but he didn't try to bite me at all today when dealing with the leash. We'll see if it sticks or if today was just a fluke.
