Surgery went very well. Surgeon said that Marco should be perfectly normal. He will feel worse for the next 2-3 days, then should start feeling really good and then the hard part starts. We have to keep him from running or jumping for the next 6 weeks or he could blow out the repair and have to do this all over again. That should be fun with a 5 month old puppy. I wonder how much that's going to kill his drive?

bummer kory . . . i guess maybe you could say " it could have been worse ", but i sure don't envy you .
probably worth a thread of it's own , but i'm wondering how you approach it : put him in a state of forced " relaxation " , like putting him on " hold " temporarily with lots of crate time , or make an attempt to keep his mind active , and the rest of his body limber via " mind games " .
probably some combination of the two , but i'd err on the side of relaxation , 'cause i sure wouldn't want this to be one of those aggravating injuries that bothers him his whole life .
